This is district where Toji Kashiwaba and his family lives, in episode 2 Toji found out that Makoto Saeki also lives in the same district. That's way this town has high priority to take a look. But according to Joe's page, Toji house is not located at Daikanyama at all, its near Ikeburo station, that is very far, no way he could run just like in the first episode to the Daikanyama station. While Makoto apartement he still can't figure out where it is, maybe the clue is too small.

Anyway, Daikanyama is a famous place for it's fashion style with appealing artistic building. This place is very near to Ebisu station, i think it takes about 10 minutes by walk. If you come to Japan with JR RailPass i suggest to get off at Ebisu and take a walk to Daikanyama area, while enjoying the scenery too.
